"Blue
Suede Shoes" is a rock-and-roll standard composed and debut released by
Carl Perkins in 1955. It is considered one of the debut rockabilly
(rock-and-roll) records, incorporating elements of blues,
country and pop music
of the time. Perkins's original version of the single was on the Cashbox Best
Selling Songs list for 16 weeks and spent 2 weeks in the number 2 position.
Elvis Presley recorded his version of the music 3 different times on national
television in 1956. Music was also recorded by Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran,
among many others.
